About the role The Storeperson is responsible for maintaining the store to a standard which allows the operation to function effectively at all times and receiving and dispatching goods in a manner which will satisfy the needs of DSI Underground and their customers.
Job tasks and responsibilities Based in Mackay and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager - QLD Coal, the duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Promote and maintain cordial, friendly and professional relationships with internal and external customers and vendors by phone, email, fax or personal contact
- Ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded according to work instructions for those operations
- Ensure non-conforming products or production procedures are reported to a supervisor
- To properly maintain the depot and deliver goods to customers and other transport depots allowing us to operate effectively at all times
- Cut and bundle bolts if and as required, ensuring no damage to goods or equipment
- Promotes and positively contribute to the team and team spirit
- Be responsible for all First aid and Fire Warden duties
- Ensure that all incoming products or material unloaded from trucks conform with delivery docket descriptions and stated quantities, report any damaged goods or discrepancies to a supervisor before unloading.
- Unload, unpack and store all goods in a safe and secure area
- Receipting of goods into Navision
- Be physically able to load and unload trucks
- Prepare load sheets, delivery dockets and consignment notes
- Inspect trucks to ensure that they are suitable to safely carry the products on the load sheet
- Ensure all load sheets match what has been dispatched
- Understand and adhere to relevant Load restraint guidelines
- Posting of shipments in Navision and management of all paperwork including POD's and connotes etc.
- Check and maintain stock levels
- Ensure stock areas are kept neat and tidy and stocks are rotated regularly and effectively
- Conduct and manage weekly stock takes to ensure stock integrity
- Follow QA policies and procedures
- Ensures and coordinates general maintenance on the forklifts and other branch equipment
- Perform daily Pre-start Checks on vehicles
- Shall ensure that the health, safety and environmental requirements of this function are maintained in accordance with statutory legislation and company policies and procedures
About you To be considered for this opportunity you will possess all the following attributes:
Essential: - Must have 5 to 10 years' experience in a similar role
- Take ownership and control of the warehouse and take pride in your workplace
- You will have a forklift Licence
- Must be computer proficient, including MS Office Suite
- Internal and External Customer service minded and focused
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Desirable: - Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- Warehouse experience within mining industry
- Heavy vehicle drivers licence
- First Aid Certification
- Fire Warden Certification
