This is a newly created role working for arguably one of the most exciting agencies in Australia
Who are you in a nutshell: Strong media planning background with the ability to think beyond channels and beneath the skin of human behaviour, in order to design compelling media ecosystems & holistic channel allocation. An ability to work with major media entities to bring innovative solutions to clients within brief and proactively. This is a dual speed role – hands on client planning and championing planning within our teams Who are you in some more detail: As our Story Planning & partnerships Director, you will articulate the story of how data and genuine insight combine to connect brands with people at times, in places, and in ways that will mean more to their journeys. For that to happen you will be well-versed on modern media-planning principles. As an outcome of that you will design highly effective campaign media ecosystems across Paid, Owned, Earned and Shared channels, identifying key gaps and opportunities to innovate -also in real time - ensuring optimal integration that brings strategic platforms to life. In parallel to that you will also be required to master and champion our Story Planning approach and, when required, coach others to independently and meaningfully utilise planning and audience tools in line with modern media-planning principles. In this role we expect you to hit the ground running, implying you have strong logical reasoning skills that are elevated by creative flair and appreciation for strategic communications frameworks. The ability to communicate effectively is essential. Importantly, you will also be leading and maintaining live media landscape documents able to positively profile yourself as an expert and enrich internal and external stakeholders with valuable information and insight about our industry, category’s and products. In summary, your goal will be to ensure 2-speed communications plans are deployed, driving effective (brand and business) results whilst maintaining media efficiencies.
Responsibilities • Mastery of StoryPlanning along with modern media-planning principles and supporting tools • Clear, in-depth understanding of media behaviours of clients’ audiences (how does the target audience interact with media along their journey)
Leads and inspires the development of original and impactful ideas across every aspect of the campaign (either through a workshop or one-on-ones with all other areas of the business) • Leads, supports and protects innovation opportunities to ensure they are brought to life and deliver positive business returns for clients • Articulates and justifies the tactics against each channel clearly detailing how they bring the strategic approach to life • Produces StoryPlanning ecosystems for briefed campaigns • Delivers best-in-class analytics solutions in the marketing and media sector • Demonstrates ability to translate statistical and analytic findings into actionable solutions to business issues • Briefs internal teams in an inspiring and effective manner to ensure a clear understanding of the strategic platform • Collaborates effectively with broader client teams to build out the StoryPlanning Ecosystem • Champion the craft of planning on behalf of key clients and lead quality planning to the broader media teams • Provides ongoing direction and feedback to client teams to ensure thinking is deliverable in media and brought to life effectively • Keeps abreast of client WIPs in order to influence the relationship and performance of the account with real-time campaign optimisation recommendations • Develops written documents and presentations that are clear, compelling and deliver a tangible outcome • Enhances the agency product by developing and sharing thought-leadership and case studies both internally and externally • Ensures all communication to internal and external stakeholders is clear and delivered in a timely manner • Oversees work outputs for account directors/managers and checks in with Group Client Engagement Directors as required • Coaches direct and indirect report(s) on a regular basis to help them deliver to their job description to a high standard and in a timely manner • Inspires and motivates strategy team and the wider agency to think differently and deliver best in market product
